What We're About

Business StorytellersSM are people who are committed to participating in the unfolding of life, including the life that goes on in organizations.  We have discovered that our experiences at work have a lot to do with how we make meaning of life.  And we have discovered that it's difficult to change our thinking by ourselves - but that when we find others who speak our language and honor what we care about, our voices take on new strength and our visions become real.

We meet to be seen and heard - to enjoy a safe place to share our stories about work life from both a professional AND personal perspective -  and to follow those stories into learning, solutions and action.  We represent a blend of realism and hope, committed to speaking the truth about our experiences and equally committed to the possibility that human beings can invent healthier, more humane and sustainable organizations.

Our meetings are held after work in convenient locations around the Bay Area, as well as Denver, and occasionally Portland. A suggested contribution of $5 for each session helps cover the meeting room, website, and other expenses. For more information on finding a meeting near you, click here.

Business StorytellersSM is sponsored by Bridge Interactive, Inc. and a committed group of stewards who design and facilitate the meetings.  Our intention is to provide a reliable source of support that does not depend on corporate sponsorship for continuity.

My life can't help but have meaning, because everything is continually unfolding, and I am connected into that unfolding in ways that I can't even imagine.

Synchronicity

Real learning gets to the heart of what it means to be human.  Through learning we re-create ourselves... we extend our capacity to create, to be part of the generative process of life.
--Peter M Senge,
The Fifth Discipline

Sometimes a word, a sentence or a poem or a story, is so resonant, so right, it causes us to remember, at least for an instant, what substance we are really made from, and where is our true home.
--Clarissa Pinkola Estes,
Women Who Run With the Wolves
